Four-day memorial build honors 9/11 while building permanently affordable homes in Spokane County
[SPOKANE, Wash.] – September 3, 2025 — Habitat for Humanity-Spokane’s Veterans Build returns Sept. 10–13 in Spokane Valley, and community members are invited to volunteer, support, and celebrate this four-day memorial build dedicated to creating safe, healthy, permanently affordable homes.
Veterans Build honors the lives lost on 9/11 by turning service into action. The event brings together military veterans, first responders, and neighbors to help build homes for income-qualified Future Homeowners in Spokane County. No prior construction experience is needed—just a willingness to make a difference.
“On a week when we remember 9/11, we honor service through action,” said Michelle Girardot, CEO of Habitat for Humanity-Spokane. “Veterans Build turns community gratitude into lasting impact—helping create permanently affordable homeownership that supports economic mobility and communities of opportunity for generations.”
