United in Service. Rooted in Compassion. Building Together.

At Habitat for Humanity-Spokane, we recognize that faith calls people from all traditions to care for one another, uplift the vulnerable, and serve with compassion. Our Faith in Action initiative is a space where people of all religions — and those guided by deep moral convictions — come together to build not only homes, but also hope and understanding.

Join us for our FIRST-EVER Faith Build Fundraising Event – a new Interfaith Build series this August through October (every 4th Saturday) for a day of faith, fellowship, and hands-on service as we build homes and hope together.

Swing a hammer, raise a wall, and lift up families – side by side with churches, congregations, and neighbors of all faiths. Together, we’ll help local families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through safe, affordable housing. No experience necessary!

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to volunteer.

Why Faith Belongs on the Jobsite

Faith is more than belief — it’s a call to serve. While our theological paths may differ, the desire to care for our neighbors is universal.

  • In Christianity, Jesus calls us to love our neighbor and care for the poor.
  • In Judaism, tikkun olam calls for acts of justice to repair the world.
  • In Islam, zakat and sadaqah emphasize giving and caring for those in need.
  • In Buddhism, compassion and right action guide moral living.
  • In Hinduism, seva (selfless service) uplifts the divine in every person.
  • In Sikhism, serving humanity is a sacred duty.

These shared principles inspire people from all faiths to build stronger communities — together.

More Ways to Put Faith into Action

Faith groups of all backgrounds have partnered with Habitat-Spokane to make lasting change. Whether your community is large or small, long-established or just forming, there’s a way to get involved:

From sacred texts to shared values, many spiritual traditions uphold the belief that every person deserves dignity, stability, and a safe place to call home. We invite all faith communities to partner with us in living out these values through action.

YES! Let's Build Something Greater Together!
