Habitat-Spokane is working to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in our community.
The Habitat-Spokane leadership team – with guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), other health officials, and the Governor of Washington – has taken the proactive and unprecedented steps of suspending most operational activities including volunteer opportunities, construction, homeowner education programs, meetings and events.
Our priority is always the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, partners and the people we serve. Our Senior Leadership Team is meeting daily and as of March 16, 2020 and Habitat-Spokane is taking a proactive approach to minimize potential exposure to the virus.
Our offices and the Habitat Store will be closed from March 17 through at least March 31, 2020. Habitat-Spokane staff who can do so will be working remotely during this time. Our staff will be adjusting and reviewing operations, including our construction and volunteer programs, with the goal of meeting or exceeding current protocols advised by the CDC and the Washington Department of Public Health.
We look forward to resuming operations, promoting affordable homeownership and revitalizing neighborhoods for families as soon as it is possible to do so.
