Before You Submit

Review the Scope

Confirm that your team can meet the project scope, schedule, insurance, licensing and other requirements identified in the solicitation.

Note Important Dates

Pay close attention to deadlines for questions, site visits, addenda and final submissions. Late or incomplete responses may not be considered.

Submit Questions as Directed

Questions must be sent to the contact identified in the solicitation. Answers that affect the scope or submission requirements may be shared with all interested respondents through a written addendum.

Check for Addenda

Respondents are responsible for reviewing any updates or addenda posted before the submission deadline. Addenda may clarify requirements, revise project documents or change important dates.

Follow the Submission Instructions

Submit your response using the method and format required by the solicitation. Do not assume proposals or bids will be accepted through the general Habitat email address.

How Responses Are Reviewed

Habitat for Humanity-Spokane evaluates each response according to the criteria included in the solicitation. Depending on the project, considerations may include:

• Responsiveness to the requested scope

• Relevant qualifications and project experience

• Proposed cost and overall value

• Ability to meet the project schedule

• Licensing, insurance and other required documentation

• References and past performance

• Capacity to work safely and collaboratively on a Habitat project

• Completeness and clarity of the submission

Habitat’s construction model may include staff, subcontractors, volunteers and future homeowners working toward shared project goals. When relevant to the scope, experience coordinating work within this type of environment may also be considered.

Submitting the lowest-priced response does not guarantee selection unless the solicitation specifically states that award will be based on price alone. Habitat reserves the right to accept or reject responses in accordance with the terms of each solicitation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be included in the vendor database to submit?

Unless an individual solicitation states otherwise, vendors do not need to be included in Habitat’s database before responding. Review the requirements for the specific opportunity before submitting.

Where should I send my bid or proposal?

Follow the submission instructions included in the solicitation. Responses sent to the wrong email address, location or platform may not be accepted.

Can I submit after the deadline?

Responses must be received by the date and time identified in the solicitation. Contacting Habitat after the deadline does not extend the submission period.

How will changes to an opportunity be communicated?

Material updates will be issued through a written addendum or an updated solicitation. Addenda should be posted with the original opportunity and clearly dated.

Can I contact Habitat with questions?

Yes. Procurement-specific questions should be directed to the contact listed in the solicitation. For general questions about this page or the vendor database, contact info@habitat-spokane.org.
