Warehouse Lead- Store Ambassador

The Role:
As a Warehouse Lead, you’ll be responsible for the receipt, evaluation, and pricing of donated items. You will lead, supervise, train and assign duties to volunteers ensuring that their experience is meaningful. This role reports to Habitat for Humanity’s Store Warehouse Manager.
- Drive Habitat for Humanity’s donation truck to residences within the Spokane vicinity to assess and pick-up donations, loading and securing items as needed.
- Assist in unloading the donation truck for quick processing, pricing and move product and merchandise to the sales floor.
- Screen donations for hazardous materials, non-saleable items, and items with a disposal cost.
- Determine fair market value of donations through all available resources – Internet, first-hand knowledge, etc.
- Participate in safety training programs, identify and report any potential hazards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our safety program.
- Develop and implement with warehouse manager improvements involving all aspects of Store donation receiving.
- Become forklift certified by Warehouse Manager and routinely operate to arrange, stock, or unload product from incoming delivery trucks.
- Process sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale system. Handle cash, credit and debit card payments efficiently.
Who you are:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to positively represent Habitat for Humanity – Spokane when interacting with the community.
- One year of customer service, warehouse or sales experience and/or training preferred.
- Able to effectively lead, supervise and train volunteers and groups.
- Knowledge of general merchandising techniques and store operating procedures.
- Fork-lift training certificate or ability to obtain training certificate within first 90 days of employment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular, consistent basis

Homebuyer Closing Specialist

The Role:
As a Homebuyer Closing Specialist, you’ll provide assistance to our homebuyers during the closing process including pre-purchase education, gathering documents for closings and grant compliance, submitting loan application packets for 3rd party lenders, supporting the Future Homeowner and ensuring that all Fair Housing and Lending Laws are being followed throughout the process. This role reports to Habitat for Humanity’s Chief Program Officer.
- Work in conjunction with Homeowner Engagement Specialists in collecting all documents needed for loan application and origination.
- Create loan application in Calyx software to submit to 3rd party lender for loan origination.
- Determine best lender and submit loan packet to 3rd party lenders via secure website/portal. Advocate for the best loan product per client needs.
- Assist the Homeowner Services Department with teaching lending related classes in Habitat College.
- Serve as an ongoing point of contact for clients, helping them collect required information and complete any necessary documents throughout the loan process.
- Manage quarterly reviews of all Future Homeowners to find any financing gaps and notifies Chief Program Officer of those gaps when applicable.
- Coordinates with title company, 3rd party lenders and future homeowners to schedule document signing and closing meetings as needed to meet all closing and grant deadlines.
- Pre-closing meeting with families to go over closing documents and procedures.
- Assist Chief Program Officer in processing reconveyance documents as needed.
- Assist homebuyers as needed with immediate post purchase assistance, such as changing utilities, setting up payment portal, etc.
- Assists Chief Program Officer with onboarding new preferred 3rd party lenders and maintains the relationship with them.
- Maintains Federal and State QLO Certification
- Keeping in compliance with RESPA, TILA and all fair housing and lending laws at all times is required.
Who you are:
- One-year lending experience and/or training required.
- One-year experience in a social services setting.
- Must have knowledge of RESPA, TILA, Fair Housing and Lending Laws.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with clients effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g, Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Staff Accountant

The Role:
As a Staff Accountant, you’ll be a key part of the Accounting Department and will assist the Senior Staff Accountant in providing for the day-to-day financial and record-keeping operations of the organization. You will enter and process invoices for payment, and help process payroll, as well as perform various office tasks that arise. You will have opportunities to learn and take on responsibilities in multiple facets of a business.
- Oversee various account reconciliations (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly).
- Research transaction history to resolve any unreconciled items.
- Process statements for Accounts Receivable to send to homeowners that make direct payments to Habitat-Spokane on Homeowner Association (HOA) expenses, Closing Cost Savings, and Utility Bills.
- Manage and reconcile all HOA accounts and collaborates with Homeowner Services Department to set up all new Closing Cost Savings transactions.
- Process reports from mortgage companies and record mortgage payments in NetSuite or other software – completed as a month closing entry when entering information that Affiliate Mortgage Services drops in Dropbox.
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to subsidiary accounts to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Processes bi-monthly payroll through 3rd party vendor.
- Make journal and ledger entries in NetSuite and Excel as directed.
- Assist Senior Staff Accountant in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable best practices and reconciling GL accounts.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, annual, and special reports as directed.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
- Previous accounts payable and/or bookkeeping experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with candidates and stakeholders effectively.

Job Title: Communications Intern
Department: Marketing & Communications
Reports To: Community Relations Manager
NOTE: Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled in a college degree program to be considered eligible for an internship position.
Start Date: Position open until filled, requires a 6-9 month commitment.
Hours: 10-15 hours/week – flexible based on your school schedule (part-time remote options available)
Compensation: This is currently an unpaid/volunteer internship

We are looking for a writer to help the Fund Development & Marketing/Communications department create clear and concise copy for ads, publications, press releases, marketing emails, op-eds, and the Habitat for Humanity-Spokane website. Your words will inform and engage donors, volunteers, sponsors, and the public.
Our ideal candidate is a team-spirited and skilled writer with an eye for detail. If you can quickly grasp project requirements, take on a well-established brand’s tone, and offer valuable insight, we’d like to meet you.
